On a hot summer night, a lakeside community gathers to watch a boy’s play. The boy falls in love with his actress and she falls in love with fame. And although they both aspire to greatness, only one of them can live with their shortcomings. The Seagull confronts the question of who is allowed to be an artist and who allows themselves to find love. This production utilizes non-traditional bodies and an amplification of atmosphere to explore this theatrical classic of how much we give up in extreme pursuit of happiness, and living with the cost of aspirations that only exist in our dreams.
